Achievment Warren Buffet is known as "the Sage of Omaha" for his remarkable know-how in stock market investments and for the resounding success of his publicly traded conglomerate, Berkshire Hathaway, one of the largest companies in the world.

Achievments made possible by:

• Early experience gained working in his father's brokerage firm
• Studying the principles of Professor Benjamin Graham, author of The Intelligent Investor who taught at the Columbia University. Working for Professor Graham in his investment firm for two years, Buffett gained vital knowledge in the Graham formula for money management and investments.
• Natural brilliance, especially as applied to math, accounting, probability theory, and business in general.
• His partner has called him the "ultimate learning machine", in that he quickly learns from his mistakes.

• Despite his vast wealth, he is generally considered a very honest, straightforward guy, with a sense of humor.

Family: Born on August 30, 1930, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Howard Buffett (banker, investment broker, and four-term U.S. representative) and Leila Stahl (clerk, secretary, and homemaker).

Education: Attended University of Pennsylvania, then the University of Nebraska, and received a bachelor’s degree in 1952; he earned a master's degree in economics from Columbia University in 1953

Married: Buffett married Susan Thompson in 1952, and stayed married although they lived separately, but amicably, until her death in 2004. His second marriage to Astrid Menks, his former housekeeper, took place on 30 August 2006, his 76th birthday
